Weed Walk: Plants of fields and roadsides, contd.

Herb Roberta (Geranium robertianum)
Okay, the field guides call it herb Robert, but everything around me is in the feminine mood, so she is Roberta to me. Like all wild geraniums, her leaves and roots contain astringent properties that are useful in reducing swelling and stopping bleeding.

Wild geranium (Geranium maculatum)
Read lots more about the wild geranium in my newest book: Down There, Sexual and Reproductive Health for Men and Women the Wise Woman Way. The astringent properties are wonderful, but I admit to using this mostly as a decoration for my salads.

  poison ivy

Poison ivy (Rhus toxicodendron, new name Rhus radicans)
You complained about the blurry poison ivy photo before, so here is a better portrait of this important Earth-protecting, Earth-healing plant. Watch out. The poison ivy is getting bigger and stronger. It just loves global warning.
